Haslett kids fish, learn a bit about environment

Lansing State Journal 4/29/2009
"The Ralya Elementary School fourth-grader joined about 25 other kids from the Haslett school Tuesday morning for a fishing field trip at Meridian Township's Historical Village pond.
Throughout the week, the school's 375 students will take turns fishing for bluegill and bass and learning about watershed preservation and local ecology issues. The activity is through the GRAND Learning Network, a local organization that seeks to improve science education through hands-on activities and promote awareness about environmental challenges."

Terrific story in the Lansing State Journal today about the GRAND Learning Network. The photos and layout in today’s print version of the paper are even more impressive than the online presentation. And the fact it’s a partnership project with funding support from local businesses is icing on the cake. This story is super. Congrats on a stellar effort by the MSU team! Enjoy your weekend, well done.
